I am the editor of Works in Progress, a magazine about the science and policy of progress, which is part of Stripe. You can subscribe to the print edition here.
I am also a fellow of Create Streets and on the advisory board of Fix Britain.
I cowrote The Housing Theory of Everything and Foundations: Why Britain Has Stagnated, as well as Is the Rate of Scientific Progress Slowing Down? with Tyler Cowen. I helped write this housing supply syllabus, this piece on how to fix road crime in the UK, and this Works in Progress article on the rise and fall of the industrial R&D lab.
You can find more of my writing at my Substack.
I live in South East London with my wife and two young children. I like callisthenics, hill sprints, natural wine, knives with an HRC of 65 or above, chicken thighs, hard science fiction and other conceptual novels, and eating a high-fibre diet. I used to like drinking sour beer and playing strategy games and expect to do more of that when my children are a bit older.
My deepest interest is music. Check out my rateyourmusic page or my last.fm.
